About the role: 

We are looking for a driven Copywriter to join our creative team based in Chicago. This role includes but isn't limited to creative writing and concept development within digital, social, e-commerce and email channels. As a Copywriter on this account, you will have a deep understanding of trends and consumer behaviors inherent to the Cannabis industry and lifestyle.

What you will be doing: 

  • Ideate as well as write copy for print and digital platforms, and any other copy needs within the department
  • Stay true to the written brand world while mastering the expansion of the brand voice to other channels and applications
  • Present and articulate copy creative concepts and content to clients
  • Support our client to find solutions, while ensuring delivered work meets the goal of their brief  
  • Develop an effective working relationship with colleagues and clients
  • Create and adapt or repurpose content for multi-use campaigns while adhering to brand guidelines 
  • Write and ideate creative that brings readership and enhances brand voice  
  • Work closely with the Account Managers and Creative Director to take a brief from beginning to end
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all written content
  • Work cross-functionally and pivot as necessary

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • 3+ years writing in an advertising agency or design firm 
  • Diploma or related degree in Journalism or Copywriting
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry 
  • Extremely comfortable with quickly shifting/changing priorities 
  • Experience in Retail or Shopper Marketing Campaigns, CRM Loyalty programs, UX, social, e-commerce and Blog editing
  • Microsoft Office, SharePoint and DAM experience (Monday.com experience is a bonus) 
  • Prior experience managing cross-functional projects
  • Well developed project management skills as you will be working with multiple briefs at a time
  • The ability to grasp how content will play out while thinking conceptually across multiple mediums
  • Experience presenting ideas to clients and the ability to clearly articulate your ideas  
  • Ability to use data and insight to inform creative and create new content from existing
  • Excellent teamwork and time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ability to quality check your own work
  • Proactive attitude as a team player and self starter with strong communication skills
  • Ownership and responsibility
