LI-CN1 #mid-senior

About the role:

OLIVER is seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to join a one-year-old, high-profile account for a Fortune 500 financial services firm. This relatively new global account has already seen growth and is continuing to expand.

Do you enjoy crafting beautiful and high performing web applications leveraging the latest front-end development methodologies, tools, and techniques? Do you have an eye for design, animation, and a passion for delivering great user experiences?

We are looking for a Senior Front-End Developer who combines the art of design with the art of programming. You will partner with the UI/UX designer and creatives to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining upfront how an experience looks as well as how it works.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the development of a variety of projects including, but not limited to web applications for desktop, tablet and mobile, large dot-com site frameworks, and creative digital campaigns. As a Senior Developer, you’ll be leading the build of large sites and technically complex projects with an eye to architecture, structure, and scalability beyond the bespoke execution.

This role is 100% remote

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with lead developer, designers, product managers, and others in the creation of design-detailed, UX-savvy digital products
  • Build on a collection of robust, reusable web components with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript that others will be happy to pick up and work with
  • Create experiences that are accessible, immersive, and forward-compatible through the healthy use of web standards
  • Write consistent clean, readable code that can be easily maintained
  • Architecting front-end solutions for larger web applications, dot com sites, emerging formats, and in some cases determining modularity, systematic design, and planning for extensibility and scale
  • Be responsible for making technical choices and direction on the project and working closely with creative team leads
  • Rapid prototyping and knowing when to evolve prototypes to a production-ready state
  • Cultivate a healthy, inclusive learning culture both within and between teams and actively seek to mentor and improve the team by providing guidance and support to junior and mid-level developers
  • Ability to research, advise and consult on best practices and explain highly technical plans in simple terms

What you need to be great in this role:

  • 7-10 years of demonstrated development experience; 2+ years people management experience
  • Experience in multiple languages and frameworks: must have an expert-level understanding of core engineering principles and computer science concepts such as algorithms, data structures, networking, and working with databases
  • Comfortable with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Redux, ES6/7/8/Next, Angular, Node, etc.); demonstrable expertise with HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript, and well-versed in CSS pre- and post-processors (SASS, LESS, PostCSS, etc) and their configurations
  • Experience with canvas, webGL, three.js, or other creative web/emerging technologies
  • Expertise with at least 1 modern build tool (Webpack, Grunt, Gulp, etc.)
  • Expertise with dependency management tools (NPM, Browserify, RequireJS, etc.)
  • Experience working with 3rd party services, APIs, and content management systems (particularly Adobe Experience Manager AEM or WordPress)
  • Proficient in building applications and custom workflows using AEM technologies (Java/Sling/JCR).
  • Experience implementing and working with analytics providers such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Ominture; knowledge of SEO and Accessibility best-practices
  • Previous experience at an agency, technology, or entertainment company
