Role: Digital Designer

Location: London



Working in partnership with our client The Guardian and on-site team, you will be responsible for creating impactful and engaging design solutions primarily for digital communications, primarily email. You’ll have a great track record for designing and delivering digital comms whilst remaining keen to challenge and influence our client’s thinking. Applying your own creative initiative, you’ll be constantly keeping yourself abreast of the latest trends to deliver best in class emails that inspire and engage our client’s audiences.



You are a designer passionate about digital communications, with a focus on email. Someone who is a proactive and independent creative thinker able to own a project from start to finish; and if you are interested in an opportunity to work with a leading media brand to help them strengthen presence in the competitive media landscape.



  • Generating strong email design and applying industry best practice to ensure impact
  • Creating best in class creative solutions for all email communication
  • Influencing and owning customer onboarding journeys across all products in our client’s brand portfolio
  • Owning projects from start to finish — working collaboratively across teams on ideation, asset creation and implementation
  • Researching up-to-date and emerging technologies and developments in the email design field and implement them when appropriate
  • Working under direction from the creative and design directors as well as using your own initiative
  • Handling multiple projects simultaneously and thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Developing an effective working relationship with colleagues and clients
  • Managing workloads within agreed timescales
  • Monitoring proactively quality, accuracy and consistency
  • Advising clients on feasibility of specific solutions based on your (basic) HTML knowledge (not a must have)



  • Deep affinity with impactful graphics, typography, layout, communication hierarchy and idea generation
  • Excellent understanding of brand guidelines and design principles
  • Familiarity with a range of digital content formats
  • Great communication skills that allow you to sell ideas and discuss certain technical aspects of email design in an effective way
  • Good understanding of working practices in Advertising, PR or creative media
  • Proactive, solutions-focus mindset with sharp brief comprehension
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, XD and Figma
  • Working knowledge of HTML
  • Aptitude to learn new software and programmes efficiently and effectively
  • Keen sense of personal responsibility, for the quality control, presentation and accuracy of all work
  • 4+ years’ experience as a digital designer working in a marketing/design/advertising role
