About the Opportunity

The Compliance function at OKX is responsible for the overall compliance culture at the company. We’re a team of risk-minded problem solvers who advise the business on the company’s regulatory obligations and risk.
 

What You'll be Doing:

As Governance Lead, you’ll lead a growing team responsible for building out key aspects of our compliance program while monitoring developments globally. This requires strong leadership as well as sound technical competencies to handle complex matters and work with colleagues at all levels. The position reports directly to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Leading strategic direction and governance support related to central Compliance functions (ie. AML/CFT, sanctions and other regulatory requirements).
  • Developing and maintaining robust compliance policies, standards, procedures, and guidance frameworks.
  • Engaging cross-functionally (with groups such as Data, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Product, and Risk) to implement an effective compliance management program in line with the global standards and industry best practices.
  • Developing and maintaining a dynamic dashboard to report compliance metrics and key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Prepare timely compliance reports, including reports to management and the Board, and other materials as required by direct and matric shareholders.
  • Lead and provide guidance to two Compliance Analysts and a potential growing team.
  • Define strategy for implementation and enhancement of the Governance team.
  • Develop Global Compliance reporting structure to provide transparency across Regional Compliance functions.
  • Prepare Compliance reports, including reports to management and the board, and other materials as required by direct and matrix stakeholders and submit timely.
  • Assist with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

What We Look For in You:

  • 7+ years of experience in compliance with financial services, FinTech or cryptocurrency industries.
  • 3+ years of management experience for a team lead role.
  • Experience and knowledge of relevant laws and requirements (AML/CFT, sanctions, consumer protection, privacy).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven ability to work within and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker and adept at working independently and in a dispersed team environment covering multiple and varied tasks.
  • Intuitive, highly ethical and comfortable to question and challenge.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organization, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the judgement and ability to closely partner with and advise business and technology leaders (and other stakeholders).
  • Strong analytical skills, solid judgement, and the ability to evaluate complex business issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams involving different partners and groups.
  • Ability to develop a mentoring, inclusive culture for both experienced team members and junior staff.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance with an understanding of applicable standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and deriving meaningful insights for decision-making.

Nice to Haves:

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing transformational change initiatives within large organizations, preferably in the banking or financial services sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Prior experience working in a global environment and/or Fintech and/or crypto exchange.
  • CAMS, ICA, or equivalent certification

Okcoin Statement:
The salary range for this position is $156,000 to $195,000. The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition to the salary, a performance bonus and long-term incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
