About the opportunity

This is a hybrid onsite position. Candidates must be in the Bay Area, CA.
 
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented senior visual/UI designer to join the OKX Product Visual Team, where you will help lead the creative direction of defining our brand expression in products. This pivotal role focuses on crafting dynamic and engaging user experiences that foster a strong connection between our products and their users. As part of this role, you will help develop comprehensive visual systems that empower brand expression through illustration, animation, and interactive elements. Additionally, you will help establish guidelines and structures to ensure our brand maintains consistency, coherence, and harmony at scale. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with creative, product, marketing, strategy, engineering, and research teams to elevate our product visual design standards. Your contributions will steer development, propose diverse creative concepts, and deliver designs aligned with our product objectives. We are looking for a candidate who embodies a detail-oriented approach to creativity, with a passion for holistic product-design thinking. As a strategic partner to cross-functional teams, you should excel in adapting to various creative styles and mediums while maintaining a focus on product excellence.
 

What you'll be doing

  • Conceive innovative new visual ideas in products and pitch those concepts to key leadership
  • Ensure the product remains current with industry visual trends and brand standards.
  • Be a driver for all aspects of product visual design and execution, including pitching ideas, and communicating the solutions to necessary stakeholders within the company
  • Propose creative concepts as well as directly design them as individual contributors
  • Align key priorities with cross-functional teams to build shared goals, milestones, and objectives
  • Design beautiful, simple, innovative, and intuitive experiences and flows
  • Regularly give and receive feedback on designs and strategic product decisions from a visual/art direction perspective
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, balance the needs of stakeholders, and break down complex requirements into simple, compelling solutions
  • Create, inspire, and sustain a culture of excellence with a focus on craft and quality of the work
  • Collaborate with product, research, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for product enhancements that would bring greater brand expression and elevate the quality of our work
 

What we look for in you

  • Experience designing outstanding digital products in an agile development environment
  • A portfolio of design work that showcases modern design work that excites you and demonstrates your ability to design mobile-first digital
  • An ability to deliver pixel-perfect designs. Strong visual design capabilities are a must for this role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, or equivalent project/portfolio experience
  • Deep understanding of human-centered design principles
  • Proficient in dissecting complex problems and tasks, translating them into user-centric, data-driven experiences that are intuitive and inclusive
  • Skilled in thriving within a fast-paced environment, adept at managing multiple dependencies, prioritizing tasks independently, and demonstrating flexibility while proactively addressing challenges
  • Demonstrated expertise in employing design methodologies and tools to facilitate cross-functional collaboration in understanding and meeting user needs
  • Strong capabilities in delivering effective presentations, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experienced in articulating complex and abstract concepts persuasively, providing rationale behind decisions, remaining open to feedback, and confidently representing viewpoints
  • Extensive background in developing digital products and experiences through comprehensive knowledge of user research, interaction design, and prototyping techniques
  • An ability to work in an agile development environment with cross-functional partners
  • Deep expertise in prototyping tools/skills (i.e. Figma)

Nice to have

  • Experience designing for fintech, investment platforms, or crypto products
  • Experience working with teams across offices and time zones
  • Basic UX knowledge and digital illustration skills

OKX Statement:
The salary range for this position is $144,000 to $180,000. The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition to the salary, a performance bonus and long-term incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
