Our Payments Team is a core functional team focused on supporting a growing list of integrations to support payments, crypto transactions and the creation of complex compliance and regulation flows. About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced engineering director to join our growing team and help deliver the product vision of payments at OKX. This is an important hire for OKX as you will be a key contributor to one of the most critical products in the OKX ecosystem.
You will be responsible for growing and leading a high-performance team focused on building our OKX Payments platform while working with our amazing product team. You must be experienced in building high performing teams that consistently deliver business value and operationally excellent systems. You’ll collaborate with other leaders across the organization to solve complex, technical, and interdependent problems that directly affect our customers’ businesses and technical systems. You will report to the Vice President of Engineering.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead a team of 3-8 engineers to develop and design scalable solutions of OKX's Fiat to Crypto platform and tools to support payment processing.
  • Integrate with 3rd party systems and implement new solutions to streamline processes.
  • Work cross-functionally with our product managers and designers to plan, strategize and execute against the roadmap according to our product principles - think big, start small, ship to learn, give our customers superpowers.
  • Review code written by other developers both in and outside of your team.
  • Provide technical leadership, feedback and mentorship to the developers on your team.
  • Provide regular feedback on career growth, progression towards goals, areas for improvement, and praise as warranted.
  • Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals.
  • Share hiring responsibilities with other leaders across the organization.

What We Look For In You:

  • You have 10+ years of experience in tech in either IC and manager roles with 3 years experience of managing, mentoring and teaching other developers
  • You have experience providing technical leadership in small teams.
  • You feel confident architecting solutions on your own, but take the time to ask questions about behavior and business results.
  • You are an excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function in a cross-functional environment.
  • You can break apart large projects into small incremental steps and can extract the minimum viable product out of an ambitious idea.
  • You've shipped, operated, scaled, and supported applications in a SaaS environment.
  • You are a believer in automated testing, TDD, BDD, continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • You are comfortable working with git and Github.
  • You have deployment and operational experience on platforms like Heroku or AWS.
  • You have experience with an object oriented programming language such as Java, C#, Python, Golang, as well as SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Bilingual English and Mandarin

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with Java Spring Boot is preferred
  • You either are already or are eager to become an expert in the blockchain and cryptocurrency landscape and will understand how speculators, traders, digital asset exchanges, blockchain money services businesses and financial institutions operate
  • Experience working in a disruptive technology, successfully launching products, ideally, within FinTech, eCommerce, SaaS, AdTech, or Digital Wallet business experience
  • A history (and preference) of being both strategic, analytical and execution-oriented
  • Familiarity with product management processes and tools
  • Experience working with teams across offices and time zones

The salary range for this position is $233,000.00 to $350,000.00. The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition to the salary, a performance bonus and long-term incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
