Thanks for your interest in Oklo!  We are searching for a Senior Mechanical Analyst Engineer to join our team. We are looking to fill this position immediately.

 

Position Description:

Mechanical Analyst engineers at Oklo are responsible for the analysis of mechanical components as part of the power plant design. This includes performing engineering analyses, interfacing with engineering design teams, identifying deficiencies with component designs, and generating clear and thorough documentation of the analysis.

 
Specific responsibilities may include:
  • Selecting or developing analysis methodologies that build confidence in a design.

  • Performing engineering analysis, which can include thermal, stress, fatigue, tolerance, safety, manufacturability, and cost.

  • Performing multiphysics finite element analysis (FEA).

  • Identifying deficiencies in mechanical designs and proactively making improvements in collaboration with engineering design teams.
  • Planning for manufacturing and assembly of components and subsystems.

  • Collaborating with engineering analysis teams to support comprehensive multiphysics analysis of the design.
  • Documenting work using modern tools and techniques in well-written technical reports.

 

Experience Level

Intermediate (2-5 yrs) or Experienced (5-10 yrs)

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering

  • Experience performing finite element analysis (FEA) of mechanical systems using ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL, Nastran, or others (2-5 years)

  • Proficiency in a CAD software

 

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience designing mechanical systems and products (1-3 years)

  • Experience in design for manufacturing (1-3 years)
  • Experience performing design optimizations utilizing tools such as Optistruct, Hyper study, or ANSYS optimization.

  • Has overseen at least 1 project from ideation to construction/fabrication and implementation

  • Fluency in Python

About Oklo compensation:

Salary: $70,000-$150,000

Salary may fall outside of the range provided and will be dependent on applicant experience.
