Introducing the Next Generation of Black and African American Talent to the Business of Creativity
OSC Educational Series: Ogilvy Chicago has designed the School of Creativity program to bring Ogilvy’s best and the brightest leaders together to introduce the next generation of Black and African American talent to the creative advertising industry. This series will be a diverse panel of presenters to introduce the main departments of any major agency.
Qualifications
The OSC Educational Series is voluntary, free and open to all Black and African American Chicago area high school students who are at least age 16 years or older.
Responsibilities
OSC Educational Series students will be required to attend a *virtual* Zoom panel discussion each Wednesday in May 2023 from 5:30-7:00pm CST:
Wednesday, May 10: Intro to the Advertising industry, Ogilvy and Account Management Overview: We'll introduce you to the world of creative advertising, share the process behind crafting campaigns for major clients around the world, and talk about what it's like to work at an ad agency like Ogilvy. Plus, you’ll learn how Account Management professionals are creative problem solvers with a focus on building client relationships and selling in big ideas.
Wednesday, May 17: PR, Media and New Business Overview: We’ll discuss influencers, brand activations, strategic media planning+buying and the team critical to fueling the agency’s growth!
Wednesday, May 24: Strategy Overview: Great ideas start with great insights. Learn how strategists provide insights, strategic direction, and research to help keep marketing campaigns on target and on brand.
Wednesday, May 31: Creative & Production Overview: Whether you're an artist, a poet, a skater, a graphic novelist, a TikTok creator, a film maker, a photographer, a DJ, a drone operator or just someone who loves coming up with ideas, we'll show you how to turn your creativity into a career in advertising.
