Octane AI is an all-remote and venture-backed startup seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer interested in developing the future of ecommerce.

You will have a major influence on the culture of a rapidly growing team, working for a company that is an employee-certified Great Place to Work. You will exhibit your exemplary skills on a team of 6-8, including a Technical Lead, other engineers, a product manager, quality assurance teammate and resident UI/UX expert. You will be an effective developer, collaborator and technical mentor - efficiently writing great quality code, providing insight and learning from teammates to enhance and support one or more of our amazing ecommerce personalization tools.

How you will contribute:

  • Support the morale of your teammates.

  • Suggest and help implement best practices and team coding standards.
  • Design and write components and applications. Write lightweight technical design documentation. Contribute to and aid in facilitating adherence to our technology roadmap.
  • Break down and execute your work in manageable, value-added chunks.
  • Test your code in a reliable, secure, and productive way.
  • Participate actively in code reviews.
  • Work with your manager to identify and close gaps in performance; participate actively in developing and executing your career plan.
  • Assist with the production of incident debriefings for critical bugs, or outage episodes.
  • Implement new integrations within Octane AI. You will be working with the Facebook API and the APIs of products and services that we will be integrating into our bots and the Octane AI platform. You should be adept at learning new APIs.
  • Help develop and improve Octane AI's architecture.

About you

  • 5+ years writing scalable, reliable, performant and overall high quality components and applications in a SaaS-based, SOA context.
  • You know how to apply Service Oriented Architecture concepts and have experience in writing microservices, with some application of serverless architectures.
  • Heavy experience in Python, Javascript (React.js), and AWS infrastructure.
  • Integrations experience: Ideally you have worked with the Facebook API, Redis, AWS DDB.
  • You understand the basics of Machine Learning; ideally you have experience with its application.
  • Please provide code samples or links to repositories with your code, along with an explanation of your programming philosophy. The more we can understand the way you think about code, the better. It's not an issue if you can't share a piece of code because of an NDA or something else.
