Job Purpose

The main purpose of this role is to work with cloud service providers to provision services, manage accounts, establish best practices, and drive efficiency. Develop the guiding principles, processes, tools, and automation that will enable development teams to transition to cloud services unimpeded. Define and develop processes for building and managing high availability, fault-tolerance, auto-scaling, disaster recovery, data security, monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and billing.


Roles & Responsibilities

Successful candidates will work closely with software developers and cloud security engineers in a cloud security team. This role will involve:

  • Automating dynamically evolving infrastructure by adopting Infrastructure as a Code approach
  • Evaluating latest cloud management and security features offered by cloud providers and creating adoption plans
  • Designing and building tools that address high priority security risks in collaboration with Cloud Security Engineers
  • Maintain and support existing tooling (python, scripting)
  • Working on scaling our platform
  • Creating processes and tools for efficient resource provisioning
  • Helping implementing security vulnerabilities detection mechanisms
  • Integrating logging pipelines with central SIEM system
  • Supporting other platform teams to that they use cloud services effectively
  • Participating in incident response calls and security post mortems

Knowledge, Skills 


  • Strong interest in cloud computing
  • Knowledge of and recent experience of cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure
  • Practical knowledge of at least 5 services current cloud providers offer (ECS, EKS, IAM, LoadBalancers, ASG, RDS, EC2, VPCs and VPNs, Cloudtrail
  • Interest in Cloud security
  • Experience with any tool allowing infrastructure as a code approach, like Ansible or Cloudformation
  • Understanding of operating systems, orchestration and deployment automatization
  • Understanding the DevOps culture and its basic concepts, such as source control management tools, continuous integration / continuous delivery, deployment strategies
  • A desire to leave your comfort zone and broaden your skills 
  • Some programming experience in either Python or Java
  • Experience in the full Software Development life-cycle from design to deployment
  • Detailed knowledge of at least one of the following operating systems: Linux, Windows or Mac OS
  • Good understanding of security principles (least privilege, separation of duties, CIA triad etc) and how they apply to real world scenarios
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to build relationships across multiple teams with disparate skills
  • A focus on detail with a desire to provide 100% solutions and answers
  • Proactive approach, able to work on multiple parallel activities in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities


  • Knowledge of central cloud management tools
  • Experience with implementing and managing the lifecycle of enterprise-scale security tools and services.
  • Experience with configuring Google Cloud Platform or AWS to best market practices
