We currently have an exciting opportunity here at Ocado for an Inbound Compliance Manager to join our rapidly expanding team on a permanent contract, based out of our Hatfield CFC.

As our Inbound Compliance Manager, The main purpose of the role is to take ownership of the Inbound Compliance process for Hatfield CFC. You will work closely with other departments and businesses including support functions, ORL and management teams from Ocado, Morrisons and third parties to ensure the high standards of the central planning team are consistently met and improved.

  • Management of the Operational Compliance Process for Supply Chain
  • Identification of non-compliance issues in the CFC’s and conducting investigations and fixing issues
  • Regular CFC site visits to build relationships and work collaboratively with the Operations to improve compliance 
  • Ensure that suppliers comply with all relevant regulations and delivery specifications, set out in the Ocado Supplier Manual
  • Liaising with key commercial teams in Ocado Retail Ltd (ORL) to seek support and escalation of key issues to resolve 
  • Conduct regular audits of internal processes and systems to develop more timely and cost-effective procedures 
  • Work closely with suppliers through site visits and communication to identify inbound efficiencies
  • Create efficiency savings through analytical and creative thinking to improve on Supply Chain’s KPIs
  • This is a new role and there will be a lot of autonomy so the candidate will need to be organised and a self-starter

Accountabilities:

  • Initiate and develop relationships with senior CFC managers to facilitate a feedback route for all supply chain/supplier issues. 
  • Regular CFC site visits to build relationships and work collaboratively with the Operations to improve compliance 
  • Ensure that suppliers comply with all relevant regulations and delivery specifications, set out in the Ocado Supplier Manual
  • Examines and improves auditing processes to prevent compliance issues from arising 
  • Liaising with key commercial teams in ORL to seek support and escalation of key issues to resolve 
  • Reporting back regularly to the Operational teams in the CFC’s on improvements and progress made
  • Work closely with suppliers through site visits and communication to identify inbound efficiencies 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • A strong track record in an FMCG or commercial supply chain and a proven ability working within a KPI driven environment
  • Previous experience in a challenging and fast paced environment
  • Ability to influence effectively and build constructive working relationships across the business
  • A proactive team player, polite, helpful and approachable and willing to share information, knowledge and skills with others.
  • Ability to fit in and guide others in the team and wider business
  • Drive & enthusiasm, demonstrating ability to adapt to fast pace and rapid change and resourcefulness when faced with challenges
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintaining accuracy & keeping to deadlines
  • Strong business skills and commercial acumen
  • Excellent planning & organisational skills, planning and achieving results through effective change management
  • Confident decision maker who is able to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels
