What does the team do?
Collaborate on ground-breaking technologies at the most disruptive, cutting-edge of Ocado’s business. We’re growing our multi-disciplinary R&D team, in our exciting lab space right in the heart of Stockholm.
Using the newest technologies and techniques, our group operates a radical agile product development methodology, iterating fast with design, manufacture and testing of next-generation robotics in a single facility.
The successful candidate will embrace the opportunity to work in a collaborative research environment, knowing their ideas are valued and that their work will see high impact products put into production environments.
What would I be doing?
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will implement and review the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process, identify potential problems and ensure quality. You will collaborate with testing and design engineers, mechatronics and product planners to ensure a coherent product.
A Manufacturing Engineer also seeks to balance various aspects of the project, from assembly procedures to design. Additionally, you will research advanced technologies and materials and have the freedom to innovate in order to find cost-effective solutions.
What are we looking for?
We see the following as ‘must haves’:
- MSc in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of CAD
- Background implementing mechanical design principles and best practices
- Background using workshop machinery with a “hands on” experience in a workshop environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Having these will make you stand out from the crowd:
- Experience using lab test equipment, test methods, setting up testing, best practices and validating results
- Experience using additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping techniques
- Knowledge in mechatronics

We operate out of a dedicated facility located on the beautiful island of Långholmen, right in the heart of Stockholm. A short walk from Hornstull t-bana, our waterfront office houses a state of the art hardware workshop, electronics lab and additive microfactory, all within a 200+ year old converted shipbuilding shed overlooking Södermälarstrand.
