Job Summary

 

Revit CAD Technicians support the scaling of Ocado’s platform business by providing detailed design models and drawings, for both new and existing Ocado CFC projects. 


Technicians are responsible for converting the SketchUp model produced by Concept Design into a detailed Revit model that is compliant with all the integration guidelines set out for each MHE family. They then use this model as a basis for generating the detailed drawings that are deliverable within each phase of the design process. Technicians also support the changing needs of the CFC projects by delivering design updates as defined by change requests.


They are supported primarily by Senior CAD Technicians, Realisation Engineers and Integration Engineers in delivering their tasks and work with Document Control to release completed work to internal and external customers.

Accountabilities

  • Producing ‘engineering’ layouts at the detailed design phase, including both new designs as part of scheduled project work and updates to existing designs through the change request process.
  • Where appropriate, providing proposed and/or as-built equipment and infrastructure drawings for inclusion in vendor designs.
  • Applying design knowledge and experience of MHE and MHE suppliers for input into mechanical design.
  • Working to and contributing to Ocado CAD standards.
  • Integrating externally produced component drawings into the main Ocado engineering library.
  • Assisting colleagues with design queries.
  • Assist with junior colleagues when required.
  • Assisting the Concept Design team with their SketchUp Models.
  • Work to and follow all CDM guidance, both external (CDM Regulations 2015 and associated Guidance L153) and internal (the Ocado CDM15 procedures and processes, HS&E policy and associated Arrangement Policies). To seek guidance from the HS&E team where there is uncertainty.    

 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Minimum: 

  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit 3D.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D.
  • Familiar with BIM 360.
  • 3-years or more on the job experience using Revit on a daily basis.

Preferred:

  • An Autodesk training certificate in AutoCAD and/or Revit (Intermediate or above).
  • Knowledge of other 3D CAD software, e.g. SketchUp,. would also be an advantage.
  • Google Docs, MS Office experience.
