Position Summary:

Oasys is seeking to fill a Data Center Engineer (Infrastructure/Cloud) position. The successful candidate will have a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts. Working under only a general direction provides technical solutions to many difficult problems. Independently determines and develops an approach to solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate their ability for continued growth and desire to take on increasing levels of responsibility within the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, deliver, and optimize Virtual Infrastructure Services to improve security, availability, performance, and resource utilization.
  • Review current virtual infrastructures, architectures, designs, and operations to identify potential improvements.
  • Analyze, refine, and document the requirements for transition from legacy architectures into a modern virtualized infrastructure environment.
  • Design virtual Infrastructure services to maximize the available capacity of physical computing, storage, and network hardware resources.
  • Document security, configuration, and performance benchmarks of Virtual Infrastructure Services.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in the VMware suite of cloud computing and virtualization technology
  • Able to work flexible hours as required.
  • Ability to develop and communicate new concepts via written and spoken interaction; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.
  • Demonstrates strong initiative and work ethic and can work effectively with an engineering team.
  • Success in a position requires the consistent display of the following key abilities:
    • Communication skills to document, develop, and present technical issues so stakeholders across the organization readily understand the content and their related actions.
    • Excellent computer, documentation, and presentation.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment and learn new technology concepts, including software and hardware.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for design, creation, and testing.
  • Ability to multi-task & support multiple priorities.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in computer science or related technical discipline from an accredited institution, with five (5) years of experience or a Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience.

Required Certifications:

  • Must have a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level II certification (i.e., Security+ CE)

Clearance:

  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with SCI eligibility

Preferred Certifications:

  • Professional-level VMware Certification
  • ITIL Foundation Certification

Work Location:

  • Annapolis Junction, MD and/or Landover, MD
