Position Overview: The Strategic Analytics (SA) team is a core business support unit within the Business Operations department of NYCEDC’s Asset Management (AM) Division. The SA team is responsible for assembling AM’s ~$400M annual property budget including oversight, reporting, and analytics. The SA team is also leading the department’s digital transformation efforts, requiring expertise in process analysis, stakeholder engagement, project management/delivery, and technical proficiency with software such as Power BI, PowerApps, and programming languages including DAX, HTML, and some VBA. 

The AVP of Strategic Analytics supports the VP of Strategic analytics by managing the Associate pool to deliver steady improvement/development of our highest priority projects. The AVP must provide technical assistance and coaching to the Associate pool while managing the VP’s expectations and the pool’s workload. The AVP is expected to adhere to and promote best practices in project management and act as a role model for the Associate pool in terms of professionalism and development. 

The ideal candidate will have experience leading small, dynamic teams in a creative and analytical environment. They will also demonstrate clear communication across various contexts: one on one interactions, in front of groups, written communications, and in reporting while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the AM budgeting and planning processes (e.g., property budgets, City capital request, mid-year reforecast, asset/business plans) including the development of final deliverables for senior management review. 
  • Provide direct support and management to the SA Associate Pool including feedback, course corrections, coaching, and professional development. 
  • Provide support for projects in the form of data collection, document drafting, process mapping, interviewing, and data analysis. 
  • Provide administrative support for the team’s responsibilities in the areas of training, systems maintenance, and responding to requests from the department. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience in real estate, finance, asset management, project management, data management and/or related field 
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently, under minimal supervision, while managing time effectively, integrating feedback, and proactively reporting progress updates  
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite  
  • PMP Certification 
  • New York City residency (required within 180 days of hire) 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with asset and/or property management, digital transformations, process change management 
  • Familiarity with various Office 365 Applications including SharePoint, Teams, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, MS Lists, Dataverse 
  • Familiarity with financial modeling software and techniques, especially as they relate to real estate 
  • Experience managing construction and/or software development projects  
  • Fluency in at least two languages 
  • New York City Real Estate experience 
  • New York City government experience 
Salary Range
$90,000$93,000 USD
