Position Overview: The Talent Acquisition Team within our Human Resources department at NYCEDC is a strategic business partner who identifies, attracts, and hires the highest caliber of talent for the organization. The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will provide general support in the day-to-day operations of the Talent Acquisition Team and will assist in streamlining and optimizing all aspects of the recruitment process. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide general assistance with recruitment efforts, such as posting job openings to career boards, sourcing candidates, scheduling phone screens and interviews, performing reference checks, and initiating the background verification process for candidates. 
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews and contact applicants as needed throughout the interview process, ensuring a positive candidate experience and timely communication with all stakeholders. 
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection process for summer internship program and year-round fellowship programs, including conducting initial screenings and scheduling interviews; and lead full-cycle recruitment efforts on entry-level full-time positions as needed. 
  • Assist with new hire onboarding and internal transfers, which includes preparing and saving employee digital files 
  • Act as a backup to the HR Coordinator with regards to new hire orientation, which includes preparing communications to new hires. 
  • Support the development and implementation of numerous internal talent programs including managing onsite and offsite event logistics.  
  • Assist with creation of presentations and pitch decks that effectively communicate talent program recommendations and/or findings to various audiences (e.g., senior EDC staff, external stakeholders). 
  • Coordinate and attend career fairs, maintain recruiting events calendar, and research new campus partnership opportunities. 
  • Prepare and maintain reports on all aspects of recruitment and new hire metrics. 
  • Support Talent Acquisition projects and initiatives, including overseeing a quarterly external Newsletter, generating SOPs, researching recruiting trends, developing training materials, etc.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred.   
  • At least one year of experience in an administrative role and/or previous internship experience in Human Resources.  
  • Previous experience with managing candidate flow in an online applicant tracking system (i.e. Greenhouse) is preferred. 
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills; diligent follow-up and proactive communication. 
  • Proven ability to build relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners. 
  • Attention to detail and organization skills.  
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.  
  • Commitment to maintaining data accuracy and confidentiality. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-volume and deadline-driven environment.  
  • Previous experience with event planning and logistics is preferred. 
  • Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and their application in talent acquisition is preferred. 
  • New York City residence is required within 180 days of hire. 
Salary Range
$53,000$55,000 USD
