Who You Are:

As Nutrabolt's Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be primarily responsible for creating, maintaining, and analyzing business data reports to help key functional areas and senior management understand and drive our company.  You will work and collaborate cross-functionally with core business units such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, and Supply Chain to gather business requirements and execute on those. You will become familiar with the business’s core processes and workflows to enable the delivery of intelligent and insightful reporting in these areas. You will use Tableau, SQL, MS SQL stack (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS), RPA, scripting language(s) (R/Python), Excel, and other tools. You will also assist in developing and maintaining the company’s data warehouse which includes collecting data from internal and external sources and act as support and subject matter expert for all data sufficiency and accuracy.

What You're Good At:

  • Performing as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Extracting, Transforming, and Loading (ETL) data from internal and external sources into our SQL data warehouse
  • Working with and modeling different formats of data (i.e., XML, API/json, flat files) to transform into standardized database tables in SQL
  • Maintaining SQL query and procedure development involving staging datasets for reporting, ETL processes, alerts, etc.
  • Providing company-wide reporting to internal stakeholders and external customers using Tableau and other reporting toolkits. This includes building out KPI related dashboards to gauge company performance for various business units
  • Performing routine extractions and assisting with process enhancements and automation
  • Enhancing internal documentation and knowledge bases around data warehouse, ETL processes, reporting, etc.
  • Collaborating with core business units (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, and Supply Chain) to gather business requirements and execute on the reporting vision
  • In this role your goals and KPIs will be focused around:
    • Enhancing level of intelligence and efficiency brought to organization and its processes via reporting, analytics, or automation
    • Effectively working cross-functionally with core business units to gather requirements and execute on their reporting and analytics needs
    • Increasing level of documentation and standardization to BI processes and workflows including on data warehouse, reporting, and ETL processes

What You Contribute: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, economics, physics, or related analytical discipline
  • 1-3 years working experience in the Business Intelligence or Analytics space
  • Strong programming skills with SQL (SSMS|T-SQL) and familiarity with data warehouse structures. Comfortable with intermediate to advanced SQL skills such as joining tables, window functions, loops, stored procedures, functions, etc.
  • Experience with Tableau development including intermediate to advanced Tableau skills such as custom calculations, LOD functions, dashboard actions, Story development, etc.
  • Experience with core MS SQL stack (SSIS – integration services, SSAS – analysis services, SSRS – reporting services)
  • Strong Excel skills including calculations, data tables, pivot tables, and connecting to external data sources
  • Experience with extracting and manipulating data from core business (i.e., ERP) systems for reporting or integrations. Direct experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and/or D365 F&O is a strong plus
  • Has working knowledge and familiarity with APIs and HTTP web requests
  • Experience with scripting languages such as R or Python is a strong plus
  • Experience with automation tools or scripting languages such as PowerShell, Alteryx or other RPA tools is a strong plus
  • Comfortable working with various formats and structures of data such as json, XML, EDI, flat files, etc.
  • Comfortable and familiar working with Agile development practices in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail and organized way of approaching projects and tasks
  • Fully capable of working with, collaborating, and communicating with business users and strategic leaders of core business units
