Job Overview

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for accounts receivable transactions, and associated customer communications, ensuring that transactions are properly recorded for US GAAP, income and sales and use tax accounting. Daily activities entail managing customer accounts and building relationships with customers, both internally and externally. Communicate with the team and company leadership about the activity of daily operations and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner, with supporting documentation maintained in a manner allowing quick and reliable access to business information.

Day in the Life of:

  • You will manage international and domestic customer inquiries for payment application status, payment issues, billing issues, business critical issues, deposits, refunds, and a variety of other customer service duties
  • You will monitor customer receipts and supporting invoices
  • You will monitor account details for non-payment, delayed payment, and other irregularities
  • You will resolve customer collections by monitoring and managing resolution of customer payment plans, payment history, credit lines, and coordinating contacts with customers and suppliers
  • You will maintain updated and accurate customer files and sales and use tax registrations
  • You will ensure all transactions comply with company policies and procedures
  • You will monitor daily bank transactions

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 2 -4 years’ experience in accounting
  • Experience with an ERP or financial reporting and control system (ex. Microsoft Dynamics AX) preferred
  • Bilingual in French a plus
  • Able to build and maintain effective customer/client relationships and proactive monitoring systems
  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • Is an excellent communicator, adaptable and a quick learner
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proactive and anticipates results of their action or inaction
  • Has excellent Microsoft Office skills
