Job Title: Clinical (RN) Trainer
Reports To (Title): Nurse Manager

Shift : Mid-Shift (10am-6pm)


GENERAL SUMMARY 

The Clinical Trainer will be responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating training materials that maximize new and existing RNs’ and Nurx’s overall effectiveness, performance, and service to multiple customers/patients. This position will work closely with Nursing leadership to ensure the successful implementation of RN training initiatives, including systems training and processes.

1.

Creates, maintains, and updates course material, course descriptions, new hire guides, class evaluation forms, e-learning modules, job aides, exercises/activities, presentations (including PowerPoint presentations, training binders and other job aids) for RNs. Assist with planning and implementation and facilitate training and development for existing and new members of the RN Team, which includes training on the Nurx application, medical policies and procedures.

2.

Develops and coordinates continuing education workshops/courses and ongoing training to help RNs maintain or improve skills and competencies, certifications and/or licenses. Acts as a mentor and coach for trainees, providing floor support and one-on-one development coaching to RNs. Coordinates all training for RN Team to include tracking, follow-up, and reporting; maintain records of training activities and employee progress. Works closely with Nursing Leaders to determine training needs for the RN Team.

Recommends and implements enhancements to existing training programs and tools to ensure training time is minimized and achieves desired results. Conducts ongoing assessment and analysis of training programs in place and monitors the effectiveness of these to identify areas for improvement.

Collects and documents examples of recurring or consistent errors to identify trends and recommends and implements methods to minimize or eliminate errors.

Perform quality review & monitor chart compliance to identify and resolve errors in workflows and patient interactions and to present findings and recommendations for improvement to Team Leads and Nurse Manager.

Completes projects, reports, additional duties developed by management and performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned, e.g. participates in outside departmental projects, participates in company functions as assigned/needed. Participates in workshops and training, when necessary, to stay up-to-date on product or company policy changes.

DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

  • Implementation of training for new hires as well as for continuing education for existing team members.
  • Determines content to develop revised processes and educational materials.
  • Perform quality reviews to identify errors in clinical competence and/or process workflows.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY 

  • No direct reports.
  • Tracks and monitors progress of staff members within the Nursing Department.

 

OTHER LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY 

  • Acts as a resource for members of the RN Team for all new hires and continuing education efforts.
  • Acts as a role model for staff, expected to embody the highest level of professionalism and clinical competence.
  • May lead and direct the work of others.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Relevant experience

  • Minimum 2-year Nursing degree and minimum of 2-3 years’ clinical experience required.
  • Active, valid, maintained & unrestricted licensed clinical professional to include LPN or RN
  • At least 3-year experience in training and/or professional development required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to resolve patient concerns.
  • Formal group training, facilitation and classroom skills required.
  • Familiar with a variety of the training field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Must be a proficient user of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and
    PowerPoint) or equivalent software application and ability to learn new
    technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, the ability to meet deadlines, strong.
    attention to detail, and provide consistent follow through.
  • Proven ability to interact with all levels.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to function well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment that demands creativity, energy, and excellence.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
