This program is operating and enhancing Open Source sources and collection through the delivery of superior network, platform, and systems engineering solutions.


NT Concepts is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with technical expertise and customer engagement skills in support of development in a cloud-based environment involving Linux and Microsoft services. This position will support soft DevSecOps and tool integration, with data flows crossing various controlled interfaces, and will follow specific IT project management and engineering life-cycle processes. This position will support solutions throughout the IT project lifecycle, to include refining requirements, creating design documentation, and providing O&M and troubleshooting support.

The ideal candidate is comfortable in technical and business requirements meetings and conversations, and self-motivated to pursue continuous improvement in a rapidly scaling delivery-of-anything-as-a-service (XaaS) environment supporting important customer missions. 



  • Recommend network design enhancements to improve cloud services and on premises systems availability and functionality.
  • Establish the cross-program baselines for systems, applications, and engineering solutions.
  • Develop and document architectural guidance and industry best practices-driven design concepts to address new user or system requirements, transition to the production technical environment, and enhance performance.
  • Analyze the cost, schedule, and performance implications of alternative design concepts for application components and the supporting infrastructure.
  • Support the analysis and evaluation of legacy processes, the design of improved processes, and the efforts necessary to substantiate new efforts.
  • Ensure the interoperability of current and future systems and software releases for all supported applications.
  • Identify mission impacts because of new information technology services.
  • Support the review and testing of applications prior to their introduction into the environment.
  • Support baseline application and infrastructure testing, capability, functionality, performance, and load balancing.
  • Ensure SEC/DEV/OPS requirements are met.


  • Clearance Level Required: Minimum Secret clearance required, Active TS/SCI with Full-Scope Poly (active) preferred.

  • Knowledge or understanding of the following concepts:
    • Network Time Protocol (NTP),
    • Domain Name System,
    • SSHD,
    • TLS, and
    • SNMP standards.    
  • Experience with software development components like Application Programming Interface (API).
  • Ability to manage outage process for systems, upgrade COTS software, install security patches and monitor systems to ensure availability. 
  • Ability to provide input into System Security Plans and Authorization.
  • Capacity to perform tasks using the Linux OS environment, McAfee Endpoint, VMWare vCenter. 
  • Working experience performing tasks involving LDAP and LDAP tools such as Active Directory. 
  • Ability to ensure that systems adhere to security compliance and best practices.
  • Proficiency in managing access controls.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify, mitigate, and/or solve challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead working groups, negotiate, and create consensus.
  • Ability to draft requirements documents, correspondence, and procedures in accordance with policies.
  • MS Office suite proficiency, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to provide clear, accurate, and simple explanations of technical procedures and processes to audiences of varying degrees of technical proficiency.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or CompTIA Security Plus certification.
  • Microsoft Certified System Engineer certification.
  • Experience and / or certifications in the following operating environments or systems:
    • Linux Server:  RHEL, CentOS, and / or Suse,
    • Windows Desktop/Laptop,
    • Server Certificates,
    • McAfee Endpoint,
    • VMware vCenter (Virtual Machines).
  • Working experience engineering, installing, configuring, and integrating new multifactor authentication solutions in an enterprise environment. 
  • Proficiency in employing COTS technologies to provide multifactor authentication solutions. 
  • Ability to perform IA engineering and hands-on System Administration of complex distributed systems. 
  • High proficiency in backend infrastructure operation and maintenance for large scale systems to include backups and system monitoring.
  • Experience with system hardening.
  • Experience implementing the security components for monitoring, compliance, and auditing.
