As a Purchaser specializing in tools and procurement for the construction industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring our teams are equipped with the right tools and resources to meet project demands efficiently. Your expertise in vendor management, innovative procurement strategies, and process optimization will directly support our operational success and drive cost-effective solutions.
In this role, you’ll oversee the acquisition of company assets, manage vendor relationships, and implement standardized procurement practices to maintain warehouse inventory, leverage vendor promotions, and process requisitions with precision. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently procure company assets to meet operational and project deadlines.
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders precisely, addressing and resolving vendor discrepancies.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with vendors, project teams, and stakeholders, ensuring goal alignment and effective communication.
- Develop, standardize, and implement innovative procurement processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor and leverage vendor promotions, manufacturer rebates, and market trends to maximize savings and buying power.
- Maintain warehouse inventory within established minimum and maximum levels, ensuring readiness for project needs.
- Manage Return to Vendor (RTV) processes, keeping meticulous records and ensuring timely resolutions.
- Oversee the Employee Payroll Tool Program, promptly processing requests and addressing related inquiries.
- Coordinate project-specific requests such as team vest orders, delivery logistics, and equipment returns, ensuring timely fulfillment.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and provide strategic solutions to project teams.
- Occasionally travel to other state locations and job sites to support procurement operations, foster vendor relationships, and align with project goals.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the construction or industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with industry-specific procedures, cost structures, and terms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related data tracking, reporting, and analysis software.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to develop and implement standardized and innovative processes.
- Flexibility and adaptability to dynamic work environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support operations at other state locations and job sites.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, free from major violations or excessive points.
Education/Certifications
- GED or High School diploma required.
