We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Fixed Asset Controller to oversee the management of the company’s fixed asset portfolio and real estate holdings. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and analysis of fixed assets and real estate investments, supporting the company’s financial goals and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
FIXED ASSET MANAGEMENT:
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate classification, valuation, and depreciation of all assets.
- Conduct periodic physical asset inventories to verify asset existence and location.
- Coordinate with project teams to track assets under construction and capitalize them appropriately.
REAL ESTATE ACCOUNTING:
- Oversee the accounting and financial reporting for the company’s real estate holding entity, including properties owned and leased by Nox Group Companies.
- Track lease agreements, property taxes, and operating expenses, ensuring timely payments and compliance.
- Work with internal property management teams to monitor property maintenance, tenant relations, and operational efficiency.
- Prepare and present financial performance reports for real estate assets to executive leadership.
EQUIPMENT OVERSIGHT:
- Oversee the accounting and financial analysis of the company’s equipment portfolio, including utilization, accurate job charging and tracking.
- Partner with Operations teams to optimize equipment procurement, allocation, and lifecycle management.
- Develop strategies to maximize equipment ROI and minimize downtime.
FINANCIAL REPORTING:
- Analyze and calculate fixed asset activity, including acquisitions, disposals, and transfers
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Assist with financial statement reviews and audits
- Act as backup for Corporate Controller and perform other duties as assigned to support the Accounting team including cash flow management, accounts payable operations, and collaborating on team leadership
POLICY COMPLIANCE:
- Develop, implement, and maintain fixed asset and real estate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Ensure proper treatment of asset impairment, disposals, and revaluations and lease account under applicable standards
- Research and process creation of compliance for other states as we grow
STRATEGIC COLLABORATION:
- Partner with Operations and Field Support teams to ensure timely asset tagging, tracking, and reporting.
- Support budget forecasting and planning related to fixed assets by providing accurate and timely data.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures or process improvements in asset management.
Qualifications
- Accounting certification and/or Business-related degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fixed asset accounting or real estate accounting, preferably within the construction or industry
- Technically savvy including proficiency in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Spectrum accounting/project management software, Crystal reports, and database management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication ability
- Strong organizational, planning, communication, management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to identify issues as they arise and quickly provide a resolution
- Team player with the desire to provide a high level of service
- Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to work in fast paced environment, flexible and adaptable to changes to planned tasks or schedule
