As a key member of our team, the Platform Support Engineer will work to continuously improve Alpha Platform, Novus’s flagship portfolio analytics engine. Used by some of the world’s most sophisticated hedge funds, fund of funds and institutional investors, Alpha Platform provides insights on over $3 trillion in assets – and growing.
As a Platform Support Engineer, no day will be a “typical” day. You’ll:
Become an expert in the portfolio analysis methodology and data that drives our product, Alpha Platform.
Collaborate with our client services and data teams to investigate and resolve urgent, customer-facing requests.
From our back-end SQL and Scala portfolio analytics engine, to our AngularJS / D3.js front-end, add features and resolve defects to help move Novus forward.
Author documentation in our internal knowledge base.
Develop strong opinions on web browsers, time zones and rounding errors.

Critical Skills / Abilities
Prior experience in software development not required, but writing code that meets team correctness and readability standards will be part of the job.
Interpersonal skills: You should know when to send an email, make a phone call, or walk over and discuss an issue face-to-face.
Organizational skills: You can keep track of ad hoc requests along with long-term projects, and you can accommodate priorities shifting day-to-day or even hour-to-hour.
