Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Product Designer - Design Systems to lead and enhance our product design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and a delightful user experience across our web platform and mobile app.

Responsibilities:

  • Design System Leadership: Own and evolve the company’s design system, ensuring it meets the needs of cross-functional teams and scales with the product suite.
  • Component Design & Development: Collaborate with product designers, engineers, and stakeholders to design reusable UI components that align with the company’s brand and product goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other designers to ensure that design components are properly implemented, adaptable, and meet high-quality standards.
  • User-Centered Design: Advocate for a user-first approach in all design efforts, ensuring that components and patterns enhance the overall user experience.
  • Documentation & Guidelines: Develop and maintain detailed design documentation, usage guidelines, and best practices to facilitate the adoption of the design system across teams.
  • Mentorship & Guidance: Mentor junior designers on best practices related to design systems, UI consistency, and accessibility.
  • Accessibility Standards: Ensure that all design system components adhere to accessibility guidelines and standards, promoting inclusivity across digital experiences.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, design tools, and new technologies to continually improve the design system’s performance, scalability, and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in product design with a focus on building, maintaining and enhancing design systems, UI/UX, or interaction design in Figma.
  • Collaboration: Proven track record of collaborating with engineering teams to implement design systems at scale. Collaborating with international engineering teams a big plus.
  • Visual & Interaction Design Skills: Strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in creating intuitive, scalable design systems, UI components, and interactive prototypes.
  • Knowledge of Front-End Development: Solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how design systems are translated into code.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for visual consistency, spacing, and typography, ensuring designs are pixel-perfect.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to solve complex design challenges and make strategic decisions that align with business goals.
  • Accessibility: Strong understanding of accessibility best practices and how to integrate them into design systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with building and scaling design systems for large, complex applications in banking or related fields.
  • Experience designing web systems as well as mobile systems.
