About the Role: 

We are looking for a Product Manager or Sr. Product Manager to join our Product team and work on exploring, shaping, and building the future of business banking.  You will be responsible for building out Novo’s risk and fraud systems that balance increased customer friction against the seamless movement of money.


You will work with engineering, design, operations, risk, data science, compliance, and other teams to achieve the business's strategies and objectives. What you'll be doing: 

You will help them shape the strategies and help deliver an AI-first customer experience to Novo’s small business owners. You will achieve this through:

  • Responsible for optimizing the north star metric of $ Losses / $ Gross Transaction Volume, balancing increased customer friction against seamless money movement
  • Lead the creation and enhancement of risk and fraud management tools, identifying needs for new products or improvements based on market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze risk factors associated with the company’s financial products or services, understanding potential vulnerabilities and developing strategies to mitigate these risks
  • Implement and maintain systems that detect and prevent fraudulent activities, utilizing advanced analytics, machine learning models, and real-time monitoring systems
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and behaviors, using insights to design effective risk and fraud management solutions. This includes gathering direct feedback and analyzing customer data
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness of risk and fraud management systems and report on their performance to senior management and stakeholders
  • Partner with the Risk Operations team to design new automation that enhances the effectiveness and connectivity of our Risk Ops tooling
  • Partner closely with data scientists, engineers, and designers to lead a cross-functional roadmap spanning investments in modeling, customer experiences, and scalable infrastructure
  • Own OKRs and build a roadmap for the risk and fraud product area based on the needs of our risk team and our ambitions for scale and speed to market
  • ​Operate cross-functionally and build strong partnerships within Novo and with external vendors to deliver excellent products and services
  • Manage risk horizontally across every product line, from ideation to planning, execution, and launch, throughout the entire customer lifecycle
  • Creatively testing assumptions and ideas using surveys, internal working sessions, prototypes, and data to build or remove confidence in solutions related to risk quickly
  • Working with fraud and risk functional areas to prioritize solutions and working with design and engineering resources to deliver them from start to finish
  • Collaborating extensively with stakeholders (data science and risk) on opportunities and solutions to drive a data-driven approach to protect against fraud

Requirements for the Role: 

  • 8+ years of experience of overall experience in the technology industry 
  • 4+ years of experience in fraud & risk financial services space
  • 2+ years of experience in product management
  • 1+ years of experience in heavy data-focused work 
  • Experience with risk and fraud teams applying data science to solve fraud problems.
  • Experience with small business financing or other financial products
  • Proven track record delivering products with demonstrable contribution to business outcomes
  • Comfortable in an ambiguous matrixed organization

Salary Range (NYC): $154,000 - 170,000 annualized salary. This range is not inclusive of discretionary bonus or equity package, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set. The range for this same position may be lower or higher in markets outside of New York City.
