What will you do?

Our quantitative research team aims to challenge the state-of-the-art in sports analytics. We aggregate techniques from leading open-source sports prediction models and develop our own proprietary methods to incorporate live data into a real-time market making strategy.

Our research and trading teams will work closely together at the intersection of sports analytics and market theory. By utilizing our proprietary prediction models, public sports betting data, and your own game theoretic intuition, you will play a crucial role in supplying liquidity across our markets.

We are taking the first steps toward the “financialization" of the sports betting industry, and it starts with our focus on research and technology.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for people with a strong trader instinct: familiarity with probability and statistics, intuition for risk management, and a deep understanding of markets and game theory. As an ideal candidate, you are a good Bayesian who thinks about uncertainty through the lens/language of statistics. You are able to update your beliefs in response to the universe of available information. You are well-calibrated to estimating probabilities, you embrace uncertainty, and you love market game theory.

Who is Novig?

At Novig, we are building the first high-frequency, commission-free sports trading platform in the US — essentially the NASDAQ of betting.

We guarantee bettors the best odds and eliminates the need for traditional sportsbooks. We do this by enabling users to bet directly against friends or the market, rather than against the house, making the betting experience more efficient, fair, and, most importantly, profitable.

Novig’s founders, Jacob and Kelechi, are recent Harvard grads with experience at Jane St & BoA who started Novig with the believe that a commission-free P2P exchange model will replace the exploitative and unprofitable betting model of traditional sportsbooks. They themselves were sophisticated sports bettors who grew increasingly frustrated by the latency, discriminatory practices, monotony, and non-profitability of the retail sportsbook betting experience.
