Nova 401(k) Associates is looking to fill the position of a specialist to work on non-routine billable special projects. The person in this position will work a hybrid schedule in our Houston, TX office located at 10777 Northwest Freeway, Suite 440, Houston, TX 77092.

The position will focus on a variety of special projects work including, late contribution calculations, prior year compliance testing, 5500 preparation filings under the DOL’s Delinquent Filer Voluntary Compliance Program (DFVCP), controlled group coverage testing, missed deferral opportunity calculations, and much more!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and prioritize workload towards weekly goals in a results-oriented team environment
  • Work with other Nova departments, record-keepers, and advisors to obtain information necessary to complete project work
  • Perform work according to Nova policies and procedures
  • Consult with internal Nova staff regarding correction work
  • Attend weekly team workflow meetings with the Special Projects Team Leader
  • Prepare prior year testing reports, 5500s, 5330s, and earnings calculations as necessary
  • Assist with other assigned tasks to balance workloads and receive well-rounded training
  • Perform work according to Nova policies and procedures
  • Complete assigned training
  • Work towards obtaining an industry designation

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior work experience (part-time or full-time) or internship experience a plus
  • Proficient in MS Excel (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and disciplined
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary $55,000 - $60,000 depending on experience
  • Salaried, non-exempt position; eligible for overtime

Work Location/Hours:

  • Hybrid work schedule
  • Must be able to work from our Houston, TX office 1 day per week
  • Must work from USA and be authorized to work for any US employer
  • No travel required
  • Attend regular video meetings via Microsoft Teams or equivalent
  • We will supply all necessary computer equipment
  • Work hours: 40 hours per week
  • You may choose a start time between 7:30am and 8:30am
