The Role:
As part of our continuing and rapid expansion, we are now looking for a seasoned Legal Counsel to join our team in Gurgaon, India. You will help define and develop our legal operations, issues and strategy, working closely and reporting into Head Of Legal.You will be responsible for providing end to end legal support on a wide variety of commercial, operational, governance and regulatory issues. You will also provide strategic advice to the senior leadership team and contribute to drive forward Nothing’s business development and growth strategy.
You will operate with autonomy and work with our international team and be willing to take on new areas and projects in a fast paced environment. Previous experience in working withConsumer electronics companies more specifically with a Smartphone is highly advantageous. You also demonstrate a strong commercial acumen, as well as high attention to detail and are able to contribute to a growing and talented finance and legal team.
What you’ll do:
- Contract Management:
a. Drafting, review, vetting, redlining of variety of Agreements like contract manufacturing, procurement, OEM, ODM, sales, distribution and other business-related contracts,Non - Disclosure Agreements, Service Agreements,, Procurement Agreements, Logistics Agreements, s, Marketing & Advertising Agreements, MOUs, LOIs and as required from time to time;
b. Creation of new draft Agreements based on business teams- requests;
c. Handling complex negotiations and closing the Legal points while ensuring business enablement and risk mitigation;
d. Handling complete contract life cycle independently and maintaining the repository/tracker thereof;
e. Highlighting the critical risk areas to the management;
f. Getting relevant inputs and approvals from various stakeholders like Finance, business and purchase teams;
g. Ensuring applicability of the internal process, policies and procedure of SDN;
h. Issuing reminders to the Business Team for expiry, renewal etc.
2. Compliance : Experience of handling legal and regulatory compliances under Legal metrology act 2009, Environment laws, IT Act 200O, DPDPA 2023 and other industry specific compliances as may be applicable.
3. Litigation Support:
a. vetting and drafting of various pleadings including written statements, evidence affidavits, counter affidavits, legal notices, complaints inter-alia.
b. Handling, drafting/replying to legal notices received from customers, suppliers, regulatory bodies and other govt./quasi-judicial authorities and closing the same with an appropriate response.
c. Timely Filing of pleadings of all the ongoing matters;
d. Supervising and keeping track of the Litigation matters of the Company;
e. Appearing in Courts as Company's representative; and
f. Arranging and attending meetings with panel Advocates of the Company for obtaining their views & opinions on various Legal matters and holding meetings and / or discussions with them for the same.
- Legal Research & advisory:Conduct thorough research on applicable laws ,regulations, statutes, rules, notifications, case laws and render legal advice on a range of commercial matters including, FDI, customs, brand authorizations, advertisements, trademark infringement.
What we are looking for:

- 5+ PQE of post qualification experience with an MNC, law firm . CS is desirable, not mandatory.
- Excellent academic and leading law firm credentials. International work experience or education is a bonus though not a prerequisite specially for UAE & EMEA region.
- Past experience in a start-up environment is desirable.
- Self-starter and ability to work independently while contributing to cross-functional teams.
- Ability to identify relevant business and legal issues proactively, define and assess the materiality of risks, find creative solutions to maintain business momentum.
- Excellent communication skills, strong command over English, both written and verbal.
- Skill and ability to identify risks and explain complex legal issues and requirements to a range of internal and external audiences.
- The ability to prioritize conflicting demands and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
