REQUIREMENTS

As a Senior Accounting Manager, you would work company-wide to provide financial reporting excellence to support the growth of the company.

Some of what you will be doing includes:

  • Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Conduct regular financial reviews and analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Prepare monthly reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage payroll processes
  • Manage 3rd party vendors and processes related to tax, audit, R&D, etc
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiency gains within the accounting function through automation and standardization.
  • Lead and mentor junior accounting professional, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration.

The skills required for this role - 

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • You have a CPA required
  • You have a minimum of 8 years of accounting experience
  • You have a proven track record of leading financial reporting processes and delivering accurate, timely financial statements
  • You have a strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and compliance requirements
  • You have experience implementing process improvements and leveraging technology to drive efficiency
  • You have excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights effectively to non-financial stakeholders
  • You are a strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate business needs and contribute to long-term financial planning and decision-making
  • You are detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • You have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Bonus points - 

  • You have experience in Fintech
  • You have experience with multi-entity accounting / transfer pricing
  • You have worked in a fast-paced and rapidly changing start-up environment

  • Market range for this role at NorthOne is $100,000-$115,000 CAD.
