Why become the Head of Production Operations at Noggin?
We are Australian headquartered software development company and we’re looking for a Head of Production Operations. This is a senior management role ideally suited for a people leader, problem-solver and business improver. You will be working closely with our CTO and executive leadership team to ensure that we have effective production operations, service management, integrations and internal IT support to meet our customers’ needs, both internally and externally. This role will focus on the operational management, resource planning, cost management, service levels, and reporting of our production operations function.
You'll be overseeing a highly competent and engaged production operations and support services team, with people who are genuinely hungry to improve and be successful. This is not just a 'maintain and manage' role. We want improvement and you'll need to be an exceptional operations manager who can drive change and take us from good to great.
What does it take to be a Noggin?
You're experienced and degree qualified with a significant record of success in managing day-to-day operations of service management, support engineering (product operations) and internal IT. You understand the different roles and moving parts that it takes to successfully support and deliver large, complex enterprise SaaS solutions. You understand the complexities that come with increasing customer base and it’s in your nature to ensure customers’ expectations and contracted service levels are exceeded. You also have coupled with the ability to make good operational decisions and develop clear, data-driven business cases – which you then project manage through to completion.
You know which levers to pull when it comes to improving the production operations of a small to medium sized IT operation. As a result, you have multiple examples of how you've successfully lead capacity planning, operations improvement, vendor management and service management initiatives. You’re multi-skilled and understand all the elements that go into running a smooth and effective IT operations function.
It goes without saying that you're a master at working and communicating with a variety of stakeholders including clients, vendors and internally. You put importance into good routine and rhythm of meetings with your team and you can pull all the ropes to ensure all issues/problems are prioritised and managed well.
What does success look like in this role?
Within your first 3 months, you have become acquainted with our people, systems, and processes and you have put together an action plan to address our objectives. You’re fully conversant with the strategic initiatives you can deliver on – and you have a clear view as to how you’re going to do this. You have established yourself as a credible manager who does what they say and who delivers without exception.
After 6 months, you'll have taken on full responsibility of capacity planning, cost management, vendor management as well as the development and performance of your teams. You have also established strong rapport with and the confidence of our executive leaders through strong reporting, operational performance and issues management.
By the end of your first year as a Noggin, you have made several impactful improvements across our Production Operations, you’ve delivered to all your KPI’s and metrics, and you have established a solid rhythm in the management and development of your people. You'll also be starting to articulate what other initiatives and improvements you can execute in the following 12 months.
