Why become a Noggin?
At Noggin, we take HR really seriously, putting it front and centre when it comes to engaging our staff in the execution of our company’s vision, mission and strategy. While we’ve taken a modern approach to HR for years now, our business is on an exciting growth trajectory, so we’re looking to take what we do so well, and inject it into growing out our teams and skills, into different regions and new operating structures. And to do that well, we need a strong HR Specialist to help ensure our teams and managers have what they need to perform at their best.
What makes this role exciting? Well firstly, we’ve built out some great processes and approaches, so you’ll learn a lot and in a short space of time. There’s real breadth to the role; coordinating process, maintaining data and documentation, reporting & data analysis, social and recognition, staff communications, research & policy.
You’ll work collaboratively with other members of the people team to provide HR services and analytic insights directly into managers in support of their HR responsibilities. And as the business owner of people operations, you’ll be driving a number of core HR processes to support on-boarding, talent management and off-boarding.
You’ll work with great, mature processes, the latest systems and approaches, and most importantly, within an energized and high performing team who place excellence above all else.
What does it take to be a noggin?
It takes a special someone to do this job well. You're an HR professional with a 2-4 years of experience under your belt and you've had a diverse set of workplace experiences - which makes you a wiser professional with more to draw from. You have a passion for helping the people in your business thrive and you can easily provide examples of where you’ve done this in your work and have made a notable difference.
You see yourself more as a business person than a people person. You have business acumen, analytical skills, and you’re comfortable with using various systems. You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty with the administrative side of HR, it’s your bread and butter. But you’re more than this too. You’re highly organized and you pride yourself on running a tight process, on time. Your document management skills are second to none, and you notice small details.
You have an appetite for self-growth, and we can see this in your career trajectory. In fact, you’re making a career move now because you crave the opportunity to step up, put those things you’ve learned into action, and expand your responsibilities further. You’re no nonsense and efficient so rolling up your sleeves to get into the job is your preferred mode of operation.
What does success look like?
The first 3 months will be all about getting you settled into our processes and systems. We’ll partner you up to ensure you land strongly on your feet, with solid training on our processes, systems and approaches, and guidance to establish the relationships you’ll need to develop across the business.
By 6 months you’ll be fully ramped up. You’ll be familiar with all of our teams and HR challenges and opportunities, and you’ll have some credible impacts already underway. Managers will be turning to you, already knowing they can rely on you to get the job done, and well. You’ll be on-boarding people, and comfortably taking new starters through our corporate inductions to help get them up to speed quickly.
By 12 months you’ll be an expert in our performance management, development and engagement approach, and you’ll be comfortably running our quarterly HR cycles around these, and providing solid input into the analysis we collectively to drive even more progress.
