About The Team:
The Metrology Engineer will be reporting to the Sr. Supplier Engineering Manager to support the on-site metrology lab. The engineer will work with Supplier Engineering, Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Operations to perform dimensional and tolerance stack analysis and investigation.
A Day In The Life Of Our Metrology Engineer:
- Hands on leader to improve metrology lab equipment, operations, and process strategies.
- Develop procedures for automated and manual data collection of in-process measurements.
- Lead and coordinate equipment IQOQPQ.
- Act as metrology expert and provide support to manufacturing and design areas in development of appropriate measurement methods, including researching and recommending new technologies, analyzing existing measurement methods, and training as required.
- Provide expertise on GD&T best practices and closely work with Supplier Engineering, Quality and Design Engineering to make sure that datum scheme and tolerances are accurate for the form, fit and function of the assemblies.
- Minitab use and statistical support
- Support QC Specialists for both incoming and/or finals inspection, process execution and develop new methods for unique measurement challenges.
- Lead and support incoming inspection correlation, MSA, FAIR, GR&R and Capability analysis for various external suppliers including the use of statistical software such as Minitab.
- Conduct Gage Analysis and Machine acceptance on a standard basis.
- Movement of inventory as needed.
- Ensure all quality processes and procedures are followed.
- Analyze dimensional data to identify sources of issues.
- Actively monitor dimensional accuracy through various measurement systems (CMM, Micro Vu, Keyence)
- Programming of any and/or all metrology equipment (Zeiss, MicroVu, Keyence)
- Document and maintain measurement work instructions for QC Specialists using all metrology equipment.
- Provide day to day production support on quality concerns and develop and implement short/long term countermeasures to quality problems while maintaining operation efficiency.
- Standardizing processes by developing, deploying, and training others on metrology engineering best practices.
- Provide dimensional expertise to support improvement projects (V&V, cycle time, efficiency, safety, etc.).
- Ensures collaboration and good teamwork throughout the company, building the broader sprit of the team.
- Other related duties as assigned.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in quality, metrology, or engineering.
- Experience with Zeiss Calypso, MicroVu Inspec Software and/or Keyence IM Series, preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience in using ERP (NetSuite), PLM (Arena)
- Excellent understanding of GD&T and ability to create datum strategies that minimize tolerance stack-up issues in critical areas.
- Strong mechanical intuition and hands-on experience modifying tooling, fixtures, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and make improvements as necessary.
- Experienced with CAD design software (SolidWorks).
- Experienced using measurement tools for root cause diagnostics.
- Strong understanding of statistics to identify critical process parameters.
- Strong communication and team working skills at all levels of an organization.
- Ability to present simple solutions to complex problems and influence key change directives in engineering teams.

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location of the posted role. Noah Medical reserves the right to modify this range as needed based on candidate experience level and/or specialized skills. Please note that the aforementioned range is only one component of the position's total compensation package.
