Position Overview: 

As our Entrepreneur in Residence Biotech, you will play a pivotal role in the ventures’ maturation process. You will leverage your operational experience in start-ups, your in-depth understanding of the drug development process, and your fundraising acumen to incubate and grow new ventures. Additionally, you will mentor emerging projects, build strategic partnerships and contribute to the overall innovation ecosystem of NLC.  This role offers an exceptional opportunity to shape early-stage companies with great science and drive them towards clinical success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the core venture creation team to evaluate and build new therapeutic ventures.
  • Define the overall strategy of the new ventures, focusing on pre-clinical, regulatory, and CMC paths.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business plans and intellectual property (IP) strategies to drive the growth of the new ventures. 
  • Engage and manage relationships with various stakeholders (shareholders, partners, investors, advisors and CROs)
  • Drive both non-dilutive and dilutive fundraising efforts to support venture growth and development.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the ventures including building and steering a budget, providing leadership to the cross-functional teams and providing regular reports. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a Biotech-related field
  • 3-5 years of operational experience in Biotech/Pharma industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of the drug development process and the ability to navigate regulatory pathways.
  • Proven track record in setting up and managing early-stage drug development businesses, including business planning, budget management, and strategic development.
  • Experience with non-dilutive and dilutive fundraising.
  • Previous experience in a founding or executive role in an early-stage start-up is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of the biotech product lifecycle from lab to clinic.
  • Robust industry network and the ability to build strategic partnerships and collaborations.

  • Ability to work in and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Highly dynamic and adaptable, with a steep learning curve.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to travel to key stakeholders and the Amsterdam office as needed (for remote employees).
