Summary: 

The role of this position is to develop and lead the Business Intelligence and Reporting training program for the BI (Business Intelligence) & Reporting Technical Coaching and Support team. This position is responsible for understanding all aspects of the BI/Mosaic software solution as well as develop and train NISC Members and NISC staff. Additional responsibilities include evangelizing the Lead With Standard initiative, building out and maintaining training curriculum and documentation and providing cloud reporting and data sharing expertise, and providing recommendations and high level design for standard reports, views, and enhancements.    

Essential Duties:  

  • Develop and deliver instructor-led training for Members (customers) and NISC employees.   
  • Unify and scale NISC Business Intelligence across all departments. 
  • Drive process improvements for members who desire custom content and lack technical resources.  
  • Review and recommend high-value standard content for Members using BI as a tool to drive business decisions.
  • Define Member requirements and manage expectations of ongoing BI needs to aid in determining the best path forward with respect to BI tools, cloud reporting, and data sharing.  
  • Educate and manage Member expectations for cloud data architecture and data sharing.  
  • Collaborate and communicate with peers including Development teams, Product Line Managers, Product Design, and other strong business leaders (employees and Members alike)
  • Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of training programs. 
  • Scope learner needs for the software along with the appropriate instructional method (such as hands-on classes, demonstrations, workshops, webinars, etc.) 
  • Apply instructional design principles to training materials and curriculums.
  • Coordinate and manage training schedules for Member-facing as well as NISC employee training schedules
  • Develop and maintain training procedures, support materials and documentation for training curriculum.
  • Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, reference works, etc.
  • Conduct, lead and coordinate Member onsite training trips.
  • Collaborate with Development and Product Management divisions to understand new product functionality and incorporate into training curriculum.
  • Work closely with the Learning Center to capture and publish training on the Community and in Pathways.
  • Align with Professional Services Member Services Divisions to ensure that training is delivered to Members and individual contributors consistently across divisions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred: 

  • 3+ years of instructor-led training or related experience preferred.  
  • 5+ years of experience with NISC-related product knowledge preferred. 
  • Proven leadership ability.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional, enterprise projects and initiatives.  
  • 5+ years’ experience with contemporary cloud-base business intelligence tools
  • Ability to evangelize NISC’s business intelligence and reporting solutions.
  • Excellent Business Intelligence knowledge and experience
  • Experience leading cloud data architecture and data sharing initiatives.  
  • Superior knowledge of business-related software applications and services 
  • Strong knowledge of the Utility or Telecom industries.
  • Strong knowledge of Project Management processes and theory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and training skills.
  • Excellent telephone/email etiquette and an ability to deal effectively with Member/Customers.
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Strong ability to set and manage internal and external Member/Customer expectations.
  • Excellent ability to demonstrate initiative and accountability.

  • Working level knowledge level of Utility/Telecom software and software integrations.

Education Preferred: 

 Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
