Position Summary:

As a Senior Scientist (Computational Biology), your work will be central to the discovery and characterization of novel small molecule drugs targeting the brain. You will utilize your existing skills and expand into new technical areas to lead computational analysis within Nine Square. As part of the Imaging Platform team, you will collaborate closely with experimental biologists to characterize neuronal disease models for Parkinson’s disease and ALS. As an early hire, you will help grow the company and its culture and your contributions will be key to the company’s success. 


  • Collaborate with experimental biologists to design and perform analyses to answer questions and hypotheses 
  • Apply appropriate machine learning and/or statistical methods to analyze and visualize results from microscopy data
  • Apply appropriate statistical analyses to '-omics' datasets across the Biology team
  • Implement a user-friendly self-service data analysis pipeline within the Biology team 
  • Provide input on project strategy through critical review of literature
  • Synthesize computational approaches and results and present them clearly in project meetings
  • Engage and work closely with your colleagues and external collaborators to achieve research goals and build an innovative company culture


  • PhD in quantitative field (Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or similar) with a minimum of 5 years postgraduate experience, OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in an industry setting
  • Experience in designing and implementing machine learning pipelines in Python, R or MATLAB
  • Experience with analysis of bioinformatics data
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A drive to learn and to proactively contribute ideas to push our research to the next stage
  • Experience with microscopy data or computer vision advantageous 
  • Experience with HPC, Cloud computing and version control advantageous
Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience and certifications.

$140,760$190,440 USD
