Job Summary

In this exciting role at NineDot Energy, the Senior Accountant will partner with the Project Accounting Manager to support the finance team on project accounting and other corporate accounting matters. You’ll work closely with the both the Project accounting Manager and Corporate Accounting Manager  to manage month end and quarter end close with strict adherence to reporting deadlines, as well as maintaining related controls.This position is also responsible for ensuring that the Company’s accounting processes and policies are in accordance with US GAAP.  

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly account reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts and material P&L accounts for the assigned project entities and corporate entity as part of the monthly close.
  • Prepare monthly recurring journal entries.
  • Conduct monthly flux analysis of assigned entities to identify and analyze fluctuations in financial data.
  • Ensure consistent application of expense recognition across all entities and in accordance with GAAP. 
  • Review of construction work in progress for compliance with the established capitalization policy and GAAP.
  • Reconcile and review construction work in progress to ensure compliance with the established capitalization policy.
  • Assist with the research and documentation of technical accounting matters. 
  • Temporarily assist with manual application of payments to open invoices until automatic payment file can be utilized in SAP to automatically post vendor payments and applied to open invoices.
  • Assist with manual application of unscheduled payments not included in the weekly payment batch file.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
  • Big 4 Accounting or Regional Accounting firm experience preferred. 
  • SAP S/4 Hana or (or similar ERP accounting systems) experience is a very strong plus.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with US GAAP.
  • Understanding of the Internal Control framework and SOX is a plus.
  • Experience with lender compliance reporting is a plus. 
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
