Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Engineering & Planning the Engineering Project Manager will lead and oversee the planning, engineering, and permitting of clean energy projects in metro New York City. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering and project management background, and a passion for renewable energy initiatives. This role requires effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standards.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget, in collaboration with engineering partners.
  • Lead the engineering and permitting of clean energy projects from concept through 100% Construction Documents.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, ensuring effective communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Work closely with engineering partners to ensure that designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular design reviews and provide technical guidance as needed.
  • Select and manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors for engineering and construction activities.
  • Oversee bidding processes, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Monitor project expenses and ensure alignment with the budget.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality.
  • Implement and oversee quality assurance programs to ensure project deliverables meet established standards.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, regulatory authorities, and community stakeholders.

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in the execution of clean energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of battery storage systems, electrical systems, and renewable energy technologies.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
