This cross functional role is crucial in helping craft Niantic's overall growth, marketing strategies, and product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and implement comprehensive user acquisition strategies across multiple channels, including paid media, social media, influencer marketing and others.
  • Lead and optimize large marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize campaign impact.
  • Troubleshoot any data anomalies or tracking issues with marketing partners and other cross functional stakeholders.
  • Work with external creative agencies to build out performance marketing creative for all needed channels.
  • Collaborate with our data science team to enhance UA reporting and proactively adapt to evolving marketing metrics.
  • Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, measure campaign performance, and optimize strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with product marketing, marketing, and analytics teams to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Communicate weekly with leadership to present insights, recommendations, and campaign results, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, including regular and reliable attendance and participation in meetings.
  • Required in-office 3 days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (in Tokyo).

Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in a mobile media buying position on major advertising platforms such as paid social, ad networks and DSPs.
  • Outstanding communication skills to translate data to meaningful business recommendations.
  • Experience interfacing with executive leadership on a frequent basis to share results from marketing campaigns and plans for future marketing initiatives.
  • Experience managing large monthly budgets across multiple channels. Ideally monthly budgets bigger than $100k.
  • Past experience working with outside contractors and creative agencies. Ideally past experience onboarding new agencies.
  • A thorough understanding of the impact of upcoming privacy changes on mobile tracking coming from both Android and iOS.
  • A/B testing creative and app store assets and writing creative briefs for internal and external creative teams.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel required, SQL is a plus.
  • Blend of creativity and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Experience with various market research data services e.g., data.ai, Sensor Tower.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.
  • Experience working with MMP (Singular, Adjust and Appsflyer) and knowledge around Apple SKAN protocols is a bonus.
