Summary

Work with and learn from sports’ best cinematic storytellers and entertainers in a culture that empowers great ideas from anywhere. The goal of Development and Innovation at NFL Films is simple. Generate more ideas, create more shows, and engage with more partners. The Seasonal Development Associate supports the Head of Development and Innovation in the Producers Department. Platforms range from broadcast to streaming to theatrical. Projects range from sports documentaries, access-based storytelling, game shows, competition formats, studio shows, children’s programming, international markets, comedy, television specials, non-football sports and more. This is a highly creative, office-based role that leans most heavily on writing and research, and design capability will be utilized as well.

Responsibilities to own or support

  • Write loglines, in-depth treatments, and deck copy.
  • Research player stories, history, photos, newspapers, and industry activity.
  • Organize and document project status, meeting notes, and incoming ideas.
  • Design visual presentation materials.
  • Participate in pitching ideas for new and existing programming.

Required Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree in television, film, media, communications, creative writing, English, or other relevant areas of study
  • Detailed knowledge of professional football (NFL)
  • Interest in telling football and other sports stories

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with building pitch decks
  • Experience with Adobe design suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, and generative AI.
  • Relevant experience or education in development.
  • Knowledge of NFL Films programming, past and present
  • Interest in the business side of television.
  • Demonstrated research experience.
  • Basic storytelling & creative writing skills
  • Strong time management skills and comfortable working on multiple projects at once covering all stages of the development timeline, from research through to presentation
  • Previous experience in sports storytelling/television/film production is preferred, but not required

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • Candidate must be available to start in August 2024.
  • Candidate must be available & willing to work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • +/- 40 hours/week
  • 5-6 days/week
  • This is an in-office position located at NFL Films in Southern New Jersey

Salary / Pay Range
