The Senior Manager, Finance is responsible for managing the annual budgeting, quarterly forecast and close processes for several NFL Los Angeles business units including Programming, Entertainment Initiatives, Media Operations and Capital Expenditures.  The Senior Manager will work in a collaborative fashion with members of NFL Media Production and Media Administration to ensure budgetary accuracy, process optimization, and improving overall control footprint.     

Responsibilities

  • Manage forecast submissions and consolidation of several production budgets, media operations, and capital expenditures into executive summary view.  Present outputs to senior management.
  • Review and approve contracts associated with vendor agreements
  • Provide high level analytics to include resource utilization, year-over-year trending, cross show comparisons, production profitability analysis, and other tactical planning activities to optimize operational business decisions
  • Oversee all aspects of close processes including reviewing journal entries, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, performing variance analysis, and submitting executive close slides
  • Work closely with production and operations teams to improve operational processes, remediate any audit findings, understand budget variances and identify risks & opportunities
  • Assist in developing ad hoc budgetary models to analysis and support greenlight efforts for new production ideas
  • Work closely with production teams to further optimize current usage of production budgeting software and expand reach across  processes with financial impact
  • Assist in management of models for talent, FTE headcount, VMO and DEI tracking.
  • Develop and manage staff accountant

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics
  • 7+ years’ experience in FP&A and accounting
  • Experience in complex financial models including expense allocations and profitability analysis
  • Ability to manage and analyze big data sets
  • Identify and remediate control weaknesses within processes
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or CPA a plus
  • Experience with sports media & entertainment industry
  • Experience with TV production budgeting applications
  • Management/leadership experience

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.
