Summary

The NFL Digital Media Group is looking for a Video Streaming Engineer. As a Video Streaming Engineer you will be joining a team that is shaping the future of NFL’s digital media presence in the world. You must have a experience in large volume video delivery methodologies for live and on-demand video streaming environments, including supporting metadata, DRM, Closed Captioning, Authentication and Streaming Security. The role will require a strong collaborator on process in areas such as supporting our live video infrastructure, provisioning live feeds, supporting VOD workflows across multiple systems, monitoring environments, escalating and resolving issues 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage audio profiles and design cadence for audio distribution. 
  • Support and maintain video on demand infrastructure.  
  • Perform analysis, diagnosis and resolution of the entire video workflow starting with encoding/transcoding hardware/software through CDN delivery to streaming video players and associated authentication and entitlement systems. 
  • Video feed acquisition setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting. 
  • Support live streaming events during NFL game windows (nights/weekends/holidays/must have flexible schedule). 
  • Configure, test and implement appropriate codec settings for live and video on demand streaming. 
  • Conduct daily inspections of video streaming infrastructure,  
  • Maintain documentation of hardware maintenance, configuration, failures, removal, and installation. 
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with current and existing vendors/partners to improve video quality of service and experience. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • BS degree and/or equivalent experience.  
  • Solid troubleshooting experience is a MUST.  
  • Proven video streaming and media workflow experience and in-depth knowledge, and understanding of streaming technologies. 
  • Experience with live streaming encoders such as Elemental, Anvato. 
  • Experience with video streaming tools as example QoS Monitoring, CDN Portals is required  
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented with excellent communication/interpersonal skills. 
  • Knowledge of streaming providers and vendors: CDN's, Cloud Providers, OVP's, Encoding Hardware/Software, etc. 
  • Strong Knowledge of Video Content Management Systems, video player development and video security. 
  • Experience working with different encoding technologies 
  • Linux administration experience. 

 

Terms /Expected Hours of Work 

  • 7-month employment period, 40 hours/week expected.   
  • Flexible schedule is a must including weekends, holidays, and late nights.   

 

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
