Overview /Objective

NFL Broadcasting is a core part of the NFL Media Distribution group, which oversees all aspects of the League’s live game distribution, from establishing partnerships and managing rights, creating the annual playing schedule, to managing daily partner relationships across production, operations, advertising and promotion, and more.   Broadcasting works closely with other NFL departments and the 32 clubs to best present the NFL, continually working with our partners to enhance the delivery of NFL games and tentpole events to the broadest audience and to meet the evolving needs and expectations of our fan base.

The Manager of Broadcasting will work collaboratively with the greater Broadcasting and Media Distribution teams in supporting these goals.

Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility will include: 

  • Maintaining day-to-day communication with NFL's network partners on production elements, game day operations, commercial break administration, and broadcast access policies
  • Working across partners, NFL departments (Football Operations, Events, Club Business, Officiating, Security, Sponsorship, etc.) and NFL clubs to ensure that all NFL game broadcasts are the best of class and support the NFL’s broader objectives
  • Representing broadcast priorities in the ongoing expansion and evolution of the NFL’s international games and other tentpole events
  • Contributing to analysis of major departmental initiatives and preparation of presentation materials for internal, League and partner meetings

The Manager, Broadcasting will contribute towards the key functional areas of the NFL Broadcast Department:

  • Weekly Broadcast Operations / Game Day Support
    • Manage relationships with network partners, NFL teams and their stadiums, internal NFL departments to support the network partner broadcast productions of NFL games.
    • Support operational and production elements around game broadcasts leading up to all NFL game windows.

Serve as a primary contact to address game day issues related to game broadcasts during all NFL game windows.

  • Support administration and training of seasonal broadcast contractors.
  • Tentpole Events
    • Collaborate with network partners, NFL Events, stadiums/venues, and host committees to support production operations for tentpole NFL events (i.e., Kickoff, International Games, Thanksgiving & Christmas Games, Pro Bowl Games, Super Bowl, Combine, Draft, FLAG Championships etc.)
  • Game of the Future
    • Support development of broadcast production innovation, technological game advancements, and enhanced feed distribution across all network partners.
    • Contribute towards cross-departmental competitive enhancements in NFL games, integrating broadcast partners into those solutions.
  • Offseason Projects
    • Support various offseason projects, including, the NFL’s universal game credentialing system, network offseason content capture, and summer seminars to prepare broadcast partners for upcoming season.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years in sports, broadcast or other analytical or project management roles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of current sports broadcast production, operations and/or content methodologies preferred
  • Sports league experience a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, a must
  • Committed team player with a can-do attitude and willingness to take on any tasks required in the moment
  • Ability to implement and meet deadlines and manage projects towards those deadlines
  • Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with an extreme attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-pressure, live-event environment
  • Ability to collaborate with all personalities at all levels of the organization and with external vendors and partners

Travel

  • Regular travel around planning and execution of NFL games and events, domestic and international

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • FSLA Exempt
  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.
