What You’ll Do:
- Design and Implement: Develop, implement, and support Linux-based systems to ensure high performance and availability, always keeping our customers' needs at the forefront.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow engineers to deploy critical infrastructure and enhance our platform architecture, valuing everyone's input and working together without ego.
- Codebase Mastery: Support and enhance our server configuration codebase, continuously learning and innovating with a curious mindset.
- Hardware Management: Oversee server hardware, replace parts when needed, and upgrade with the latest components to meet our ambitious standards of excellence.
- Document Everything: Create and improve comprehensive documentation for system setups, procedures, and best practices, ensuring clarity and transparency.
- Storage Systems: Manage enterprise storage systems, always aiming for the best performance.
- Data and Messaging: Support key/value data stores and messaging systems such as Redis and Kafka, ensuring they meet the needs of Nexxen’s applications.
- Virtualization: Deploy and manage virtualization platforms that support Nexxen’s products and infrastructure, contributing to our customer-centric approach.
- On-Call Support: Provide 24/7 support as part of an on-call rotation, ensuring quick resolution of critical issues to keep our customers satisfied.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience: 5 or more years in systems engineering with a focus on large-scale Linux environments.
- Education: A technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Adept at writing scripts and helper apps to improve our automation efforts.
- Experience with configuration management tools, particularly Ansible.
- Familiarity with server hardware in data centers, including management using IPMI and Redfish.
- Basic understanding of network switching and routing.
- Knowledge of common storage systems and protocols.
- Proficiency with VMware or other virtualization tools.
- Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift and move objects up to fifty pounds.

In support of pay transparency and equity, the minimum and maximum full-time annual base salary for this role in Virginia is $120,000 - $150,000 at the time of posting. While this is our reasonable expectation this is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
