What you'll do:     

We're looking for a Senior Big Data Developer to join our Data Engineering. Office location is New York.

You will be a part of our Data Management platform, that is responsible for processing, storing, and serving data for all our core systems. 

As a Senior Big Data Developer, we will encourage you to take a proactive & autonomous approach in research & development while working collaboratively with the team. Our ideal candidate is a fast but thorough problem solver, and a fun person to work with!

What You’ll Do:   

  • Implement and maintain high scale Big-Data solutions and contribute to our platform infrastructure and architecture.
  • End-to-end feature development and ownership, from design to production.
  • Take part in building & designing the next generation data infrastructure of the company.
  • Research innovative technologies for building high scalable data applications.
  • Working with various stakeholders: Product, Engineering, Data providers etc. 

Job requirement:

  • Language: English and German
  • 4+ years of data engineering experience 

  • 4+ years of experience in Java
  • Python and Scala (advantage)

  • Experience with Pipelines/ETLs/Hadoop/Hive/Spark/Kafka/Streaming systems 

  • Experience working with SQL and NOSQL databases. 

  • Build and maintain performant and scalable high volume applications. 

  • Strong system architecture knowledge 

  • Working knowledge of Linux, Docker, Container Orchestration 

  • Proficient with Git version control system 

  • Collaboration with developers, product managers, business operations and customers 

  • BS (or higher) in Computer Science or related degree 

  • Work in an Agile development process 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Team player

  • Experience with Vertica, Clickhouse, MySQL, Oracle, Spark, RDS , Trino, MongoDB, Redis
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience in AI/Machine Learning  

  • Basic understanding of online advertising technologies

  • Running Linux systems in production 

  • System Monitoring Systems: Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, Kibana, InfluxDb etc. 

  • AWS Service Experience (e.g., EC2, ECS, Kinesis etc.)
  • Experience with other SQL & NOSQL DBs.
  • Experience in Scala

Job Description: 

  • Become an expert on ad creative, including light HTML and macro insertion.
  • Test and QA third-party tags before launching campaigns for Priority Accounts.
  • Ensure accurate creative implementation with offshore team and manage discrepancies during campaign launch process.
  • Support Traders in optimizing campaigns, focusing on managing 1st party and 3rd party discrepancies by analyzing delivery data.
  • Guide Offshore Trafficking team on technical questions, collaborate with Client Success on client requirements, and support Trading teams for overall campaign success.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to site retargeting, conversion pixels, creative, and implementations promptly.
  • Manage multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously, maintaining organization and prioritizing tasks as needed.
  • Become proficient in DSP, focusing on creative upload tools, reporting, and liaising with product teams for new feature recommendations and testing.

Requirements: 

  • BA/BS in business or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in digital ad trafficking.
  • Familiarity with the programmatic landscape and ad serving.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think logically.
  • Excellent detail-oriented, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams, manage multiple tasks proactively, and prioritize responsibilities to meet specific deadlines.
  • Knowledge of DFA/DCM, Sizmek, Innovid, and various third-party ad serving platforms is preferred.
  • Preferred experience with JavaScript, HTML, and VAST/VPAID ad formats.
  • Experience with DSP platforms and JIRA is a plus.

In support of pay transparency and equity, the minimum and maximum full-time annual base salary for this role in New York is $160,000 - $200,000 at the time of postingwith the potential of an incentive or bonus. While this is our reasonable expectation this is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
