Why this Role?

Next Street is looking for a passionate and innovative Product Manager to join us and help build interactive and digitally enabled products that will transform the small business industry. This is an exciting opportunity to drive end-to-end product lifecycle management, including product strategy, product management, and user research, to build a vibrant, data driven platform to better support small businesses, local providers, and business-to-small business (B2SB) institutions, alleviating systemic challenges they face today.

This role is highly visible, with direct influence on the Product team's priorities and processes, as well as on firm strategy and growth. Your work will consist of…

Product Management (80%)

  • Lead end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to launch - including product research, technical documentation, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, product requirements, and product launch.
  • Work collaboratively with Product Owner to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap based on market analysis, customer feedback and business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with Engine, Marketing, Sales and Delivery teams to effectively develop, test, and release products and features
  • Conduct thorough market and user research and data analysis to inform product decisions and continuously pursue a deeper understanding of user needs
  • Work closely with Engineering teams to translate product strategy, define technical requirements, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with product goals
  • Track, analyze and share key metrics to evaluate product performance, iterate on features, and drive improvement

Business Development (20%)

  • Participate in business development processes; participate in prospect calls, inform proposal development and provide feedback to originators
  • Equip originators with product knowledge needed for sales processes, through trainings, collateral, and information sharing
  • Collaborate closely with marketing team to inform product marketing efforts; help develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates the products

 

Why you?

  • You have 4 - 6 years of product management experience, driving end-to-end product lifecycles within small to medium sized start-ups
  • You have a strong grasp of product management best practices, building effective product processes and roadmaps, interpreting customer needs and market trends
  • You are a strong problem solver with a can-do attitude and comfortable working in a scrappy but high performing team
  • You are an excellent communicator with experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and able to communicate product value across a wide range of audiences, internally and externally
  • You have a strong business and technical mindset, effectively translating and aligning business strategy and technology delivery
  • You are a strong project manager with the ability to stay organized while managing multiple on-going priorities
  • You are data driven, using KPIs and metrics to drive decisions and product direction
  • Plus if you have knowledge of or strong interest in learning more about the small business ecosystem

Next Street believes in an equitable and transparent compensation approach. The salary range for Senior Manager positions across the firm is $138,400 - $146,900 regardless of location and commensurate with experience. This role is based in New York area, though other locations will be considered for qualified candidates. You will be eligible to participate annually in Next Street’s discretionary incentive program. For new hires, Next Street targets the start of the salary band, although considerations could be made based on job knowledge, skills, and experience. As part of our Antiracism commitment, Next Street uses a pay scale approach and transparent methodology to advance staff within a compensation band based on performance.
