A Day at NewStore

You arrive at the office and meet with the Product Manager to learn about the new “uneven exchanges” feature that is ready for release. Afterward, you chat with the feature team to learn first hand how it is used in the mobile app, and about related configuration. The team also tells you about the changes to the API. You go to lunch with the colleagues of this team. After lunch, you have a refreshing table football match.

In the afternoon you meet online with the developers of a shipping provider company. You discuss some follow up questions to the training you provided last week. Meanwhile, an issue is reported by a sales team, that they can’t order online the item in the demo script. It is out of stock. You replenish the item and take a note to have a post-mortem with the sales engineer to understand how this happened and what actions can be taken to have a smooth sales presentation. You finish the day closing out some orders that have been abandoned in the last week’s demos but still allocate stock. You wish you had already finished the planned automation of this chore. Just before leaving the office, an email comes in that NewStore won the account you set up a demo with custom products and integrations, just a last week - shared success!


  • Customize the NewStore solution for demo flows used by the sales team
  • Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and deployment of changes to the demo system
  • Support the sales team with issues in demo systems
  • Collaborate with the sales team on how to demo new features
  • Develop automated maintenance of demo systems
  • Communicate NewStore API and Webhooks to developers
  • Develop and maintain example data to be used in documentation and training
  • Author and provide developer focused training
  • Gather systematic feedback from trainings to improve the materials and delivery

What we need from you:

  • Coding experience with Python or JS
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent presentation skills for technical and business audiences
  • Ability to explain complex systems with simple concepts and instructions
  • Detail-orientation
  • Ability to prioritize the short term fix/workaround and follow up with long-term solutions
  • Ability to work on multiple activities concurrently
  • Strong and creative problem-solving and analytical skills
  • eCommerce, Order Management and Point Of Sale experience a strong plus
  • Knowledge of the retail industry a strong plus
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time

Special things we would like to see:

  • Proven track record in giving technical presentations
  • 3+ years of development experience in web and mobile
  • Experience in a support or quality assurance role
  • A 4-year degree
