About the Role

We're looking for a Founding Engineer with a visionary approach to technology and a passion for building scalable, high-performance platforms. In this pivotal role, you will be leading the core engineering effort to bring our next-generation content platform to life. This is an extraordinary opportunity to lead the technical direction of a platform that will shape the future of digital content creation, distribution, and monetization.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Drive the technical roadmap and architecture for the content platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. Lead the development team in implementing cutting-edge technologies and practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Product Manager to align the technical vision with business goals and user needs. Facilitate a seamless workflow between the engineering team and cross-functional partners.
  • Innovation: Champion innovation by exploring and integrating advanced technologies and methodologies that enhance the platform's capabilities. Foster a culture of creativity and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Engineering Excellence: Oversee the entire development lifecycle, from concept through deployment and support. Implement best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to ensure high-quality product delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-caliber engineering team. Promote professional growth and foster a collaborative, inclusive environment.
  • Problem Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges with innovative solutions. Drive decision-making processes that affect the platform's architecture and performance.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in software development, with a strong background in building scalable, high-performance mobile/web platforms.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership and project management in a dynamic development environment.
  • Expertise in modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, microservices architectures, and containerization.
  • Strong understanding of content management systems, digital media publishing, and online monetization strategies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is listed below. Pay may vary based on a number of factors including job-related skills, level, experience, geographic location and relevant education or training. At NewsBreak, we design our overall rewards package to attract top talents. Depending on the position, the role may also be eligible for discretionary bonus and options.
