Job Description:
We are seeking a Principal Virtual Infrastructure Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting a highly sophisticated infrastructure that enables engaging and cutting-edge training solutions. The candidate will be responsible for administering and optimizing existing hosts and servers to ensure a high degree of availability and appropriate resource management. Researching, recommending, and implementing hardware and software products and strategies to build upon a highly complex infrastructure. Required Qualifications:
- TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
- Bachelor of Science degree in system engineering, computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or related STEM degree and fourteen (14) years of experience working as a system engineer on projects/contracts of similar scope. In lieu of a degree, at least nineteen (19) years of progressively responsible systems engineering experience is required.
- Current and active Security+ CE certification, or equivalent.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining VMWare products including, but not limited to ESXi, vCenter, VSAN and NSX.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining VDI environments, specifically VMWare Horizon View.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining physical and virtual Windows and Linux servers and desktops.
- Experience with networking concepts such as routing, switching, encryption, and firewalls.
- Experience with TCP/IP networking, networking architecture, and its interrelation to desktops, servers, and operating systems.
- Experience with packet capture and network analysis tools.
- Experience with network security principles, threats, and vulnerabilities.
- Experience with monitoring solutions and datacenter operations.
- Understanding of Software Defined Networking & Micro-segmentation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with desktop and server hardware and peripherals.
- Experience with scripting languages (Windows PowerShell, BASH, VMware PowerCLI etc.)
- Experience with reading/implementing STIG guidance, hardening and maintaining systems.
- Experience with installing, configuring, maintaining and using Atlassian products such as Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, etc.
- Knowledge of or experience with how data center systems are interconnected and interrelated. Ability to explain how disparate data center technologies work together.
- Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g. Python, Perl).
- Ability to explain complex abstraction layer designs and troubleshooting steps.
