We’re aiming to change the landscape of modern web development. Currently, we are looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to help us with that mission. About the role
The BI engineer turns data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. This role provides data that is accurate, congruent and reliable and is easily accessible. BI professionals empower the rest of the company by educating and training people to use the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new form and content for the purpose of analysis and exploring options.
- Explore and set up BI dashboards
- Consolidate, build, and maintain downstream data pipeline for the dashboards
- Create and maintain documentation on the pipeline, dashboard, and other reports
- Communicate and train people to best use our BI tools
- Improve and maintain some of the current pipeline
The BI engineer will have an immediate connection to our values. This individual contributor will be extremely flexible and enjoy a “startup” mentality and environment that changes day-to-day.
- Major in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field
- Experience working with business stakeholders, identifying and prioritizing requirements
- Proficient in Spark, SQL and one of the data science languages (Python or R), relational data systems and data warehouses
- Knowledge of data visualization (e.g. D3.js, Shiny) and reproducible report tools (e.g. R Markdown)
- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, EC2, Data Pipeline, EMR, AML, etc.
- Business acumen, understanding of SaaS company metrics

About 55% of the company are remote across the globe, the rest are in our HQ in San Francisco. However to maintain a distributed culture we have Tuesdays and Thursdays as work from home days.
