Near Space Labs is leading the next generation of Earth imaging. We design, build and operate a fleet of proprietary, stratospheric balloons called Swiftys. Our Swiftys fly to the edge of space to deliver high quality, highly updated imagery of our planet at down to earth prices.

We are looking for an autonomous, dedicated assembly technician to help us build our fleet of stratospheric robots in Near Space Labs' Barcelona office. This position works with our Flight Operations and Engineering teams to ensure we are manufacturing and maintaining a sufficient stock of flight-worthy units.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Assembly, Integrate and Test our fleet of stratospheric robots;
  • Make batteries, perform electronics soldering, crimping, cable-making, and other general electronics work;
  • Assemble airframe components and 3D-print parts;
  • Help setup a small-scale production floor in our headquarters;
  • Follow up manufacturing and quality procedures and contribute to their improvement;
  • Support Flight Operations performing maintenance, repairs and bug diagnostics on the robots.

Your Skills & background 

  • 3+ years of experience in small-scale hardware production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing in Robotics, Aeronautics, Drones, Auto, IoT, or a similar field containing hardware and embedded software.
  • Experience with 3D printing and carbon fiber is a plus.
  • Attention to details and process-oriented.
  • English language professional proficiency.
  • Mission-oriented and focused on accomplishing goals autonomously.

This is an onsite, full-time role in Barcelona, Spain.
